Motivation

There are a lot of satellite orbit visualization websites out there, but they didn't provide what I wanted in a single website. Some of them required very high processing power that my devices couldn't handle; some of them provided a lot of information that I didn't require; some of them didn't provided all the information I required; and some of them I couldn't navigate their interfaces with ease.

Because of all these, I thought this is a free world, why don't I make another satellite tracker with exactly what I need? This is how SpaceTrail came to exist.

Credits

This website bundles a number of projects and data from websites which I should mention and acknowledge them(the list is not in any particular order):

• Celestrack - For providing all the TLEs data
• Cesium and its related Cesium Ion service - For providing the globe and its tilesets
• satellitejs - For providing an easy to use javascript parser for the TLE data
• jspredict - For providing another layer of abstraction for data generated by satellitejs

I also thanks all the contributors of codes snippets that have been used in this website to solve one problem or another.

Support Development

There are some fees that are required for keeping this website alive; fees in terms of hosting charges, bug fixes, maintenance, domain name fees and development time. The money to which I get from my day job which is not really enough to keep this website at the level I want it to be.

It could be great if I could also remove the dreadfull 'Upgrade for commercial use' link at the bottom of the Cesium viewer by purchasing the commercial Cesium Ion licence which is currently USD 149 per month but I do not have any spare fund to purchase it now.
